The Vikings were from the Norsemen of Denmark and renowned for their ferocity in battle and ruthless pillaging of European coastlines. This set depicts them in their native clothing ready to do battle. The king stands proudly with his queen in her simple dress. The bishop is also warlike and the knight is seated on horseback weilding an axe. The pawn is armed with a shield.
