Chess Sets
These chess sets are made of Slate(black pieces) and Limestone(white
pieces). They are available with or without boards which are made
of slate to match.
 Camelot
This set is based on the romantic legend of King Arthur and his
knights of the round table. The king is King Arthur holding the
sword Excalibur. His queen is Guinevere and the knight Sir Lancelot.
The rook is a typical early English round tower of a castle. The
bishop is dressed in his ecclesiastical robes. The pawn is a foot
soldier with his shield ready for battle.
The king height is 125mm.

 Isle
of Lewis
The most famous chess set. This is considered to be the oldest
known chess set ever found. The hand carved pieces (78 in all)
were found in an underground chamber in the Isle of Lewis in Scotland
in 1831. Most of these are now in the British Museum in London.
They are thought to have been made in Scandinavia in the twelfth
century. Our full set is composed of twelve different pieces so
that both sides of the set, although similar, are actually different.
The king height is 95mm.

 Welsh
Chess Set
This set is based on Welsh characters of the Middle ages with
Llewelyn the Great as the king with his queen Joan. The bishop
is depicted by a druid. The rook is a typical "D" shaped tower
built in the original thirteenth century Welsh castles. The knight
and the pawns are Welsh dragons. The set has red and black halves

Vikings
The Vikings were from the Norsemen of Denmark and renowned for
their ferocity in battle and ruthless pillaging of European coastlines.
This set depicts them in their native clothing ready to do battle.
The king stands proudly with his queen in her simple dress. The
bishop is also warlike and the knight is seated on horseback weilding
an axe. The pawn is armed with a shield.
The king height is 125mm.
